Protective cover
Protects the kindle very effectively. Nice tight fitting cover. Worked well until I purchased the skin cover.

this fits Kindle 2 perfectly
I bought this hoping it would fit my Kindle 2 and it does perfectly. This was shipped pronto and does the job. Just note as the picture is hard to view and determine this..

This slip cover is beautifully made and is exactly what I wanted for carrying my Kindle. I can even fit my Kindle with the silicon cover on it into the slip cover. I would have given it 5 stars except for one thing. For some unknown reason Octo chose to print the instructions for using the slip cover directly on the leather on the back of the cover! First of all who needs instructions to use a slip cover? More importantly, WHY print them on the leather??? (No you can’t rub or wash them off) I have kept the cover because, for me, it does what I purchased it for, protecting the Kindle without a lot of extra bulk. Still every time I pick it up I wonder why someone would choose to ruin a beautiful cover by printing the instructions on the leather.

First of all, as another reviewer mentioned, there are two illustrations stamped into the leather on the back side of the cover showing you how to slip the Kindle inside. I’m telling you, if you weren’t able to figure that out on your own, you’ve got bigger problems than just trying to find a case for your Kindle.
Positives:
1) The leather on this case feels and smells exquisite – it was just what I was looking for. It’s plush and aesthetically appealing.
2) The Kindle is very secure inside, and could probably withstand a drop from a two story building. Not that I plan on testing that.
Negatives:
1) The instruction diagrams on the back – just silly, and so unnecessary.
2) But here’s the main problem for me – and I’m not taking off any stars for this because I should’ve realized this from the picture and the fact it’s called a “slip cover” – but I was really looking for something that would make my reading of the Kindle more aesthetically pleasing, and more simulative of reading an actual book. This doesn’t cut it, because when you want to read, you have to take it out and you are left with the plain plastic Kindle.
So, this cover is recommended for someone looking for an elegant and safe way to transport your Kindle, but not for someone who is interesting in having something plush to hold, or pleasing to the eye when actually reading.

I really didn’t like this as much as I expected that I would. I thought it would “fold back” upon itself and keep the Kindle inside while I read, but it is just a “slide-in” case.
