Kindle Chron is great!
Hey, I’ve been a SF Chron subscriber for all of my adult life and I’m OLD so that’s a long time. We’re moving to a very rural area of the Bay Area where there is no home delivery…

I canceled during the freebie period for several reasons. First, delivery was late four times in eight days. I want the morning newspaper when I get out of bed, not at noon. Worse, the electronic version does not have things like the weather page or movie listings or most any of the other reference materials you want from a daily paper. Horrors: the electronic edition doesn’t give you the Pink Section. Why buy the Chron if you don’t get the Pink Section? I had hoped to give up my newsprint subscription, but the electronic version is no substitute for the real thing. It isn’t worth it.

I am a long time Chronicle subscriber but at this time of the year I go to work very early and the carrier never delivers before I leave home. I was hoping the Kindle edition would enable me to read the paper when I got to work. Unfortunately, the Kindle edition was often later than the paper edition, once several hours later. The Kindle edition also lacked many of the features that I read the daily paper for: comics, sports tv listings and many other articles that I like to scan. Maybe if I’m traveling out of town I might think of ordering a single copy but a daily subscription is out of the question for now.

I was very surprised to find a photo with just about all of the main articles in this paper … even with several lesser articles. The quality of the content is very good. I found that the layout and Kindle navigation worked together nicely. There is plenty of local, state, national, and world news to be had. This paper arrives very early (before 5:30 AM). I recommend this paper, but try it first then decide.
12-27-08 UPDATE: There IS a Sunday delivery. This paper is delivered seven days each week. Some reviewers on Nov 2nd must have had a delivery problem that day and made some incorrect statements about the Sunday delivery. This is a great paper for the Kindle! Again …. Recommended!

Love getting the Chronicle!
I grew up in the Bay Area, reading the Chron, and I love having it on the Kindle. When you consider the reasonable price, its a great way to keep up not only on national and…

Best coverage of California and the Bay Area
First, let’s dispense with all the deflationary ratings.
You don’t like that it doesn’t have your favorite writer or section from the actual print copy?

Key content missing!
I have to agree with some of the others. There are critical articles missing in the Kindle edition including front page articles, movie listings, full 96 hours section, and…

Wanted to love it, I really did!
The Chronicle for me is merely ok. I will say first off that my problems were overall not the majority of the problems others have experienced: It was never late, and I felt it…

Mostly good and hope that it will be even better in the future.
I enjoy reading the Kindle version of the S.F. Chronicle, but it is a different experience. The newspaper is usually available by 6 am each day, and this suits my schedule just…

Didn’t think I’d love it, but I do!
I’m in my first weeks of owning the Kindle 2, and I’m wild about it. I signed on for the free trial subscription to the SF Chronicle, thinking I wouldn’t like it much, because I…

A Good Paper
I find the Kindle edition to be the same and the paper version that I have had delivered to my door.
