The Oklahoman (Kindle Edition)
Product Description
The Oklahoman is the largest news organization in Oklahoma, dedicated to coverage of news, business, sports and entertainment that is pertinent to Oklahomans. It is an institution like no other in Oklahoma. It has published continuously since 1894, before Oklahoma was a state, and has been owned by the Gaylord family since 1903. Today, the news staff publishes its work across a variety of mediums — including the print product, the largest in the state; and NewsOK.com, Oklahoma’s largest and most successful news site.
The Kindle Edition of The Oklahoman contains articles found in the print edition, but will not include some images and tables. Also, some features such as the crossword puzzle, box scores and classifieds are not currently available. For your convenience, issues are automatically delivered wirelessly to your Kindle so you can read them each morning.

First, I will let it be known that I abhor The Oklahoman’s editorial policy. It is so far to the right as to be laughable. It is surely the broken template for the “right wing rag.” HOWEVER…..
With the above stated as forcefully as I can, I have to commend The Oklahoman for putting together one of the finest Kindle newspaper presentations available. Like most people, I like to read the local paper for coverage of city and state news, local business, culture, entertainment, etc. and The Oklahoman pulls this off with aplomb. The design is very nice with easily navigable links. The closest thing for the Kindle in comparison, format wise, is the format used by The Nation magazine (ha…The Oklahoman will just LOVE that comparison). But it’s all pulled off very well.
So, while the reactionary right holds court in the editorial boardroom of The Oklahoman and angers me everyday, I give them high marks for the design, simplicity-of-use and overall quality Kindle design. It hasn’t escaped my attention that their website and multimedia offerings far exceed many much larger papers and they clearly “get it,” when it comes to New Media. So, in a sense I am not surprised by this excellent Kindle product. It just angers me that I must rise to the defense of the Kindle edition of a newspaper that probably ranks at the bottom for its editorial and opinion page. But this time, credit where credit is due – kudos to The Oklahoman. Good job and five stars.

The Daily Oklahoman and the Tulsa World are no longer sold in nonmetro areas of Oklahoma. Thus, I am dependent on the Kindle or the internet for state news. Of course, it’s not the same as reading the “paper”. I am adapting. I would prefer to see less metro content and more national and statewide news. I do think that the conservative material is limited to the opinion page.

90% of newspapers available for the kindle are LEFT of Pyongyang Daily. So it’s funny that Castro and Chavez devotees like Donovan can’t stand that one or two “conservative” papers are made available for the kindle (WSJ is NOT a conservative paper). Amazon, why is the Washington Post (let’s cheer for Obama in the newsroom!) available while the Washington Times is not? Can anyone answer that one? Did all of you who gave this paper a one star rating for bias comment on the bias of the Post and the Times??? Oh, sorry, no bias there, according to the commandant.
I live far from Oklahoma, but have gotten this one for the kindle because, frankily, there’s literally NO conservative content available.

Opinion seems to end up on the OpEd page for some reason.
I’ve read the Oklahoman for a little while and have been shocked to find that most of the opinion appears on the Opinion page.

Good stuff
Frankly, newspapers and Kindle are far from a perfect match as Kindle is limited on what it can display.
The Oklahoman is the leading newspaper in the state.
